April 22, 2025—Rennell Elementary School fifth grade student Zaley Bowles is applauded by her teachers for being involved in the arts.

Accomplishments: Bowles was recently accepted into the Broadway Artists Alliance in New York City and will attend workshops this summer. She was a cast member in The Little Mermaid at Class Act Productions and is part of the Houston Youth Chamber Orchestra. She was a member of the CFISD Elementary School Choral Festival and participates in dance classes, voice lessons and plays soccer.

Favorite class: “Math, because it’s easier to show my work and I have strategies I can use. It’s the most interactive.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to play soccer, dance and be part of theatre productions. I also like to hangout and talk with my friends.”

Favorite song: “9 to 5 by Dolly Parton and Love Story by Taylor Swift.”

Favorite website/app: “Duolingo, because I’m learning Italian. My brother might go to college in Italy.”

Favorite movie: “The Pitch Perfect movies because I like the singing.”

Ambition: “I want to be an actress because I like to act, sing and dance.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “My family, my pets and my faith are important to me.”

What inspires you?: “Music.”
